Job Description
Edens & Avant is one of the leading retail real estate developers and owners in the nation. The Social Media Intern will use a range of social media tools and channels to promote Edens & Avant shopping centers and the more than 1800 local, regional and national retailers in those centers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for and demonstrated ability in using social media – a power user of Web 2.0 tools including Twitter, blogs, widgets, YouTube, RSS, social bookmarking, etc. The intern will be self-motivated, high energy and have a strong interest in retail.
Edens & Avant owns and operates 130 shopping centers in 14 East Coast states. The Company’s portfolio consists of neighborhood centers, with many located in infill locations in urban markets from Boston to Miami.
        Use a range of social media tools to market the company and our retailers
        Establish social networking profiles for Edens & Avant centers
        Maintaining an engaging relationship with our customers through social media outlets
        Work directly with independent retailers on getting started and maintaining social media activities
        Forge relationships with leasing, construction, and property management teams as well as blogs, members of the media, retailers, and members of surrounding community organizations to spread the benefits of social media and to obtain relevant and frequent information to provide our online audience
        Exhibit thought leadership on the latest social media trends – keeping the company current with the latest trends and making recommendations accordingly
        Serve as a subject matter expert for issues associated with social media marketing
        Lead research and creative brainstorming for social media marketing campaigns on behalf of independent retailers
        Regularly research new social media initiatives and trends in commercial real estate and in national and local companies
        Plan social media marketing campaigns for shopping centers and retailers
        Contribute to regional and company-wide marketing initiatives as needed
        Active on Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, etc.
        Basic knowledge of HTML, FBML or HTML coding systems, such as Microsoft Front Page
        A smart, fast, inspiring and fun communications style
        Strong internet research skills
        Exhibit enthusiasm, energy, and creativity
        A passion for new media and technology
        Responsible, dependable and well organized
        Excellent attention to detail
        Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direction as well as an effective team player
        Some experience, exposure or applicable education in retail/fashion merchandising
        Interest in shopping a plus
